Hot Bacon Dressing recipe

Eventhough my Dad has more salad dressing in his fridge than Kraft, I promised...

Hot Bacon Dressing
8 slices bacon, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar

In a large deep skillet brown the bacon evenly. Remove, drain and set aside.
In a bowl, whisk together sugar and cornstarch. Slowly add water and vinegar, whisking constantly.
Add mixture to the skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickend and add bacon.
Serve warm over salad.

It can be stored in an airtight container in fridge. To serve, warm in microwave for about 30-60 seconds, stirring regularly.

chuckle- That MIGHT be a slight exageration. We DO always end up with an inventory.
I'm wondreing about using balsonic instead of so much sugar? What do you think?
