Dancin' that Bag-A-Go-Go (again)

Nothing says summer like hot pink and lime green argyle.
The fabric really isn't wonky and uneven. I was just in a hurry to take pictures.
This drawstring ditty is covered in a music theme print. I had to buy it because the drummer has a Mohawk. The inside is lined with a flying heart tattoo print.
Same style as the argyle but a little less wild.
This is another Big Ass Market Bag.
Behind it is my ever expanding rack. Yeah, yeah, I know that can be taken out of context.

Sneek a peek!

These are bangle bags. The bracelets hang the bag from your wrist. They're the perfect size for a night out. The 'tattoos' are appliqued.

This is a wristlet. Another bag perfect for a night out on the town.

This bag will be a one of a kind because

1. the heavy interfacing is expensive

2. I'm bad at button hole stitches

3. it was a bitch to do

This is my Big Ass Market Bag. Designed for those who don't believe in plastic grocery/shopping bags but do believe in being stylish.

This is the bag opened up all the way. This thing could hold a small village!

I've made many, many more recently, not to mention the headbands I'm doing- 3 so far completed and close to 20 cut out. Yup, I'm pooped.

Latest & Greatest

OK, maybe that is an exaggeration, but here are the two bags I finished today!
This one is an embroidered denim with a hot pink lining.
This one is my favorite. Its huge, the geisha print looks awesome with the bamboo handles. Its lined with black. This one would be perfect for knitters, it can hold lots of yarn, needles, projects and even a book or two!

The rack they are hanging from I got today. Its a double rack, industrial strength with chunky wheels that I picked up for cheap. I'm having Mike cut a piece of wood for the bottom so that I can put my plastic bins full of bags, headbands and aprons and not have to carry a damn thing!

Bag-A-Go-Go

Made 5 yesterday. This pattern is pretty simple and straight forward so I could crank them out like an assembly line. I love the one in front. Its a brown micro-suede, the pattern is embroidered on. All have bamboo handles and are fully lined.
Last night I started on a doll for a birthday present to a one year old. I haven't made dolls in eons so this is a real test of my memory. The dress is what is really throwing me off. I don't sew clothes, never have and after this never will. After I make the dress and sew on the hair she will be done. I'll post a pic of her soon.
So its time to post that great name that I know all of you have been racking your brain over all week. Come on Peeps- I need a name for my company!

Bag Lady

That's me!
Here's what I've been up to.
(don't ask why this is underlined, I can't figure out how to get rid of it)
The one on the right is a hobo style bag. The one on the left is Ruth's bag. You can't really tell in the picture but the bottom of her bag is this awesome black and grey swirl print.

Did I mention both of these are reversible?

Small purse or camera bag.

Interior shot.

Japanese print beige and orange drawstring purse. Yes, I know. I still have threads to cut. This is my favorite, not just because its of my own design either. Its big enough to hold diapers and all the mommy crap that must be on person at all times but its small enough not to be cumbersome.

My new creation

This is the purse I finished yesterday.
I luuuuuuv it. Its the perfect size, about 9x13 and the fabric is so awesome. Not bad for an investment of $10, most of which was the handles.

This is a shot of the inside and matching wallet (open) and coin purse. The pocket is divided into three compartments and holds the wallet, a cell phone and keys.

I think I may have to make more of these since I have about tons of the fabric left. At $2 a yard who could pass it up!

A Pain in the Crane

This is what I did during Gryffin's nap and a movie. The purse has a coral, green and gold crane print with a black lining. I also made a little credit card and lip gloss wallet and a coin purse (not pictured).
It was much more difficult than I imagined. I don't use patterns much. I use a design as I go process which would probably make a seamstress weep. But hey, as long as I like what I end up with she can cry her little heart out.

This is the credit card and lip gloss wallet opened up. Sorry for the out of focus shot.

Restless hands

This is what I did because I needed something easy to do while fighting the flu. I made two purses. The one on the left has tortoise shell handles (they don't show up in the pic very well) and is reversible with an inside pocket. I used a paper grocery bag as the pattern. The smaller one on the right is also reversible and was based on a purse I bought recently. I loved the design of the purse but hated the fabric so I bought it knowing I had the perfect fabric at home.
I don't know what I will do with all these, maybe sell the larger one. Or use it as as knitting bag, who knows!

It ain't purrrfect, but it'll do.

What do you do when you haven't been able to wash your hair in almost a week, you can't stand to wear yet another baseball cap and you know you're going out?

You take a total of 1 minute to dig through Beqi's Bin of Bastard Scraps, sew a quick headband and use it to cover those greasy roots and tie it all back. I think I set a new world record in speed styling. I know its not all that "Growl" but at least its a little "Meow".

Grrrowl, purrrrrrrrr & ring!

This is what you do with a few minutes, your husband's old swimming pin and some fun fur that Beqi gave me... a phone, credit card, lip gloss and cash holder (aka- my size purse)!
Gee thanks, Beqi. I guess now you want the rest of the scraps back, huh?
One girl's trash is another girl's trashy accessories!
